Kolkata, June 6: West Bengal Minister Nishith Pramanik recently addressed issues related to politics and sports in Bengal, sharply criticizing the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government.
During the discussion, Pramanik described the last 15 years as a dark era for Bengal, impacting not just politics and development but also sports. He emphasized that a transformation has occurred, marking a new dawn for the state under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, which aims for progress in all sectors.
Pramanik accused the TMC of discriminating against children over the past 15 years. He stated that the current focus is on providing better facilities for Bengal’s youth. The National Sports Code has been adopted, and he warned that the previous sports minister’s brother would face consequences for his actions. “Those who have played with the future of Bengal’s children will not be spared,” he asserted.
He also announced that an investigation into the alleged corruption during the last Bengal Olympics would be conducted, promising to identify all involved parties.
Regarding the resignation of Kolkata’s Mayor, Firhad Hakim, Pramanik remarked that it was a delayed but necessary decision. He suggested that not only Hakim but many non-performing counselors and commissioners across Bengal should resign to allow new talent to emerge. “We do not pressure anyone; they are resigning on their own,” he noted.
In response to accusations from Mamata Banerjee regarding the Osman Hadi murder case, Pramanik claimed that Banerjee is inciting unrest. He stated that her comments resemble those of a supporter of terrorism, urging her to reflect on her statements. He confirmed that two cases have been filed in this matter, and action will be taken.
Pramanik reiterated that despite any opposition, 100 percent fencing will be completed. “Let anyone do what they want; we have no issues. But fencing will not be halted under any circumstances,” he declared.
On Prime Minister Modi’s extended tenure, Pramanik expressed pride, stating that they hope he continues as Prime Minister for many more years. He praised Modi’s governance, highlighting the steps taken towards transforming India into a developed nation in a short time, attributing this progress to Modi’s leadership.
