
Kolkata, May 12: The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the state. He stated that the state’s double-engine government is now dedicated to ensuring that every welfare initiative from the center reaches the last person without any hindrance. Adhikari emphasized that West Bengal is rapidly progressing on the path of development.
Prime Minister Modi also expressed his happiness regarding the launch of the Ayushman Bharat-PM Jan Arogya Yojana in West Bengal. He noted that the people of the state will now benefit from the world’s largest health scheme, which guarantees affordable and quality healthcare services.
In a post on the social media platform X, Chief Minister Adhikari wrote, “Heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his blessings. For years, the people of West Bengal were deprived of your visionary health and welfare schemes. Now, the double-engine government is working with full commitment to ensure that every central scheme, including Ayushman Bharat, benefits the last person. West Bengal has finally returned to the path of development.”
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi stated in his post, “The welfare of my brothers and sisters in West Bengal is paramount. I am pleased that the people of the state will now benefit from the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which ensures excellent and affordable treatment. Additionally, the double-engine government will implement the central government’s important schemes with speed and transparency.”
It is noteworthy that the Ayushman Bharat-PM Jan Arogya Yojana is the central government’s flagship health initiative, implemented by the National Health Authority under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This scheme provides cashless treatment up to ₹5 lakh annually for poor and needy families.
Launched in September 2018, the scheme aims to provide better and accessible healthcare services to economically weaker sections of society.
