West Bengal Chief Minister Hits Back at Abhishek Banerjee Over Police Warning

West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari responds sharply to TMCs Abhishek Banerjees threats against police, suggesting he needs medical help.

Kolkata, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari launched a scathing attack on Abhishek Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) general secretary and Diamond Harbour MP, on Friday. This response came after Banerjee issued a stern warning to the state’s law enforcement officials. Adhikari mockingly suggested that Banerjee should seek medical treatment for what he termed an imbalance of “sodium and potassium.”

Adhikari’s remarks followed Banerjee’s public threats to police officers, accusing them of ensnaring TMC workers in false cases at the behest of the state government. He warned that once the government changes, no one would be able to save them.

Speaking to reporters near a hotel in Kolkata, Adhikari emphasized that investigators are gathering crucial information from Sumit Roy, Banerjee’s former personal assistant, who was recently interrogated by the police.

He stated, “The person who collected money for him seems to be his PA. He has revealed everything. They have been in power for 15 years, so perhaps a few people still communicate with him via FaceTime. Nonetheless, we are receiving all the information.”

Referring to Banerjee’s anger as a reaction to the information provided to law enforcement agencies, Adhikari remarked that there seems to be something amiss with Banerjee’s sodium-potassium levels, humorously suggesting he should travel to New York for treatment. “We will issue him a No Objection Certificate (NOC),” he added.

Adhikari’s rebuttal came after Banerjee’s fiery speech the previous evening, in which the TMC leader directly criticized the BJP-led state government and the state police administration. Banerjee had openly warned law enforcement officials against acting under political influence, asserting, “I warn every officer who thinks they will work at the behest of Suvendu Adhikari. No one will be able to save them when the government changes. No one is above the law. If you think someone will fall and be saved, no one will save them. I am responsible for this. We will see what happens in two years.”
