Weather Shifts in NCR: Rain Expected Over the Next Few Days

New Delhi, August 31: As the monsoon season comes to a close, the weather in the National Capital Region (NCR) is set to change once again. According to the latest forecast from the Meteorological Department, rain is expected today and tomorrow in Delhi-NCR. The sky will be overcast, with light to moderate rainfall possible in some areas. Strong winds may accompany the rain, leading to a noticeable drop in maximum temperatures in the coming days.

The local forecast indicates that on August 31, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 36 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will be around 26 degrees Celsius. The sky will be partially cloudy throughout the day, and no warnings have been issued for this date. However, a more significant change in weather patterns is anticipated on September 1, with similar temperature predictions of 36 degrees maximum and 26 degrees minimum, and a chance of light rain.

On September 2, a further decrease in temperature is expected, with maximums around 33 degrees and minimums at 25 degrees Celsius. Moderate rainfall is likely, and the weather is expected to remain pleasant on September 3 and 4, with maximum temperatures at 33 degrees and minimums at 24 degrees Celsius, along with light rain.

By September 5, the likelihood of rain will diminish, with the weather remaining partially cloudy. The maximum temperature is projected to be around 34 degrees, with a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius.

Amid these weather changes, air quality remains a concern. Data from various monitoring stations in Delhi show significant variations in the Air Quality Index (AQI). For instance, Ashok Vihar recorded an AQI of 131, while Bawana reported 110, and Burari Crossing noted 108. In contrast, areas with relatively better air quality include Aya Nagar with an AQI of 69, the Cantonment Area at 88, and Chandni Chowk at 86, indicating uneven pollution levels across the city.

In Ghaziabad, monitoring stations also reported considerable differences in air quality. Govindpuram recorded an AQI of 102, Indirapuram at 53, Loni at 163, Sanjay Nagar at 50, and Ved Vihar-Loni at 145. Loni had the highest AQI at 163, while Sanjay Nagar and Indirapuram showed much lower levels.

According to the Meteorological Department, the upcoming rain and strong winds may help alleviate some dust and pollutant particles in the atmosphere over the next couple of days. However, the pollution levels may rise again once the rain subsides.
