Pune, Mar 3 : Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president Nana Patole said on Thursday that they will take legal opinion to bring a resolution in the state Legislature seeking to send back state Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. In a press statement here, he said that Governor Koshyari has insulted the revered deity of Maharashtra Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule. Maharashtra worships these idols and will never tolerate their insult, he said. Patole said that Koshyari left his address halfway is not appropriate for the post of a Governor, with such a behaviour he has insulted the 12 crore people of Maharashtra. “Let’s chant slogans in the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji in every nook and corner of Maharashtra and even if the Governor or BJP does not like it, these chants should not stop. The Congress party condemns the statements made by Koshyari,” he declared. The Congress party condemns the statements made by Koshyari, he said and demanded that Koshyari should apologise for insulting Shivaji Maharaj, Jyotiba Phule and Savitrimai. Talking about Minister Nawab Malik, Patole said that BJP has no right to demand resignation of Malik. “Dozens of ministers in erstwhile Devendra Fadnavis-led government were accused of several violations, how many ministers resigned at that time? Everyone was given a clean chit without any inqury,” he asserted. “The BJP and Devendra Fadnavis who are accusing Nawab Malik of having links with fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, are okay with funds donated by notorious goon Iqbal Mirchi to their party,” he said and wondered is Iqbal Mirchi a relative of BJP. The Budget session of the Legislature has started and the issues of the people would be discussed in this session, MPCC chief said and added that the session should be held for its entire schedule but if BJP deliberately obstructed it then the people of the state would not forgive it.
