We are prepared to flex muscle in Punjab Assembly: Hamza

Islamabad, April 6 : The joint opposition parties candidate for the post of Punjab chief minister Hamza Shehbaz has said they will gather their lawmakers in the Punjab Assembly to show their numerical strength here on Wednesday, Dawn reported. The assembly session has been called for Wednesday which was earlier prorogued till April 16, which is in line with the commitment given to the Supreme Court by Punjab’s Advocate General of holding the election on April 6. Hamza, said this minutes after Advocate General Punjab gave his word to the Supreme Court that elections of CM will be held as per schedule on April 6. He accused the PML-Q of foreseeing their defeat and therefore staging this drama in the assembly, to use it as an excuse to prorogue the session. He said they, in line with the commitment given to the Supreme Court, will reach Punjab Assembly with all their parliamentarians. He said the law would be held supreme. He said that when nomination papers are filed, it becomes obligatory to hold an election the next day. He said if the session during coronavirus days, can be held in a private hotel, why at a time, when the biggest province was without a chief minister, a session cannot be moved to another location; even if a few shattered glasses had made it impossible to hold a session in the Assembly premises.
