Warning Issued Against Misuse of AI to Spread False Messages About Ajit Pawar

Mumbai, February 19: The President of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Sunil Tatkare, has issued a warning regarding the dissemination of misleading AI-generated audio and video content following the tragic passing of Ajit Pawar. He stated that certain individuals are exploiting this situation for political gain, spreading false narratives about Ajit Pawar in society. Tatkare urged the public not to believe such misinformation.

He emphasized that those engaged in this activity will face legal action under the Cyber Act if they do not cease their promotion of these audio and video materials.

Tatkare’s warning appears to be directed at Rohit Pawar, who has been holding press conferences from Mumbai to Delhi. He has been raising questions about the circumstances of the accident through AI-generated videos and audio. This prompted Tatkare to release the statement on behalf of the party. Although Rohit Pawar’s name was not mentioned, he is the only political figure publicly questioning the incident using AI-generated content during press conferences.

The letter from Sunil Tatkare noted that following the death of the NCP’s national president and former Deputy Chief Minister, Ajitdada Pawar, fake videos and audio recordings utilizing his voice and image have been circulating on social media and various electronic media platforms.

The letter further stated that some individuals are spreading false and misleading statements in the voice of the late leader to fulfill their selfish political and social agendas. This act is deemed serious and punishable. The misuse of the late leader’s image in such a manner is considered despicable and condemnable.

The NCP has issued a clear warning that those responsible must immediately stop circulating such AI-generated fake videos and audio recordings. Failure to comply will result in strict legal action against the individuals involved.

The letter concluded by stating that Ajitdada Pawar was a people’s leader in Maharashtra. Spreading false propaganda in his name after his death is detrimental to societal interests and an affront to democratic values. The NCP strongly condemns such actions and demands an immediate halt, or else severe legal consequences will follow.
