‘War 2’ Outshines ‘Kuli’ on Second Day at the Box Office

Mumbai, 16 August (Kiran News). The Indian box office witnessed a major clash on 14 August as two big films, Rajinikanth’s ‘Kuli’ and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘War 2’, hit the cinemas. Both movies had a fantastic opening, but now the collection figures for the second day—Independence Day—have been revealed. On the opening day, ‘Kuli’ led the earnings, but on the second day, ‘War 2’ also showed its strong hold at the box office. However, ‘Kuli’ maintained its dominance. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, both films earned crores of rupees on Independence Day in India.

‘War 2’ Box Office Collection

‘War 2’ earned ₹52 crore in India on its opening day, with ₹29 crore from Hindi and nearly ₹22.75 crore from Telugu. The second day’s box office results show a slight increase, as on Friday, ‘War 2’ did a business of approximately ₹56.50 crore. Thus, the Junior NTR and Hrithik Roshan starrer has achieved an impressive total collection of ₹108 crore in India within two days.

‘Kuli’ Box Office Collection

Rajinikanth’s ‘Kuli’ saw a decline in its earnings on the second day. According to Sacnilk, the film had a massive opening of ₹65 crore in India on the first day. However, its second day collection dropped to ₹53.50 crore. With this, ‘Kuli’ has reached a total of ₹118.50 crore in India over two days. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film features Rajinikanth alongside Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, and Upendra in important roles, with a special cameo by Aamir Khan surprising the audience. On the other hand, ‘War 2’, directed by Ayan Mukerji, stars Hrithik Roshan, Junior NTR, Kiara Advani, and Ashutosh Rana in lead roles. The film’s production cost exceeded ₹300 crore.
