Panaji, March 10 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Goa t Chief Sadanand Shet Tanavade on Thursday congratulated Health Minister Vishwajit Rane for winning the Valpoi seat. However, the official announcement of the results are yet to be made by the Election Commission. ”Many congratulations to @visrane for winning @BJP4Goa Valpoi Assembly Constituency elections with over 8300 votes,” Mr Tanavade tweeted. He also expressed confidence that the party will cross the halfway mark and secure a majority in the state assembly. ”Trends and leads indicate @BJP4Goa is inching towards majority, I am confident the BJP will cross the halfway mark as the day progresses,” he said in another tweet. Valpoi is a traditional seat for the Rane family. His wife Deviya Rane is contesting from Poriem assembly segment. As per the latest trend, BJP is leading on 19 seats. AKM ACL1249
