Lucknow, May 8: In the 50th match of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced off against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. RCB’s star batsman, Virat Kohli, returned to the pavilion without scoring a run.

Kohli was clean bowled by LSG’s fast bowler Prince Yadav with a remarkable delivery. This marks Kohli’s first duck in IPL after 46 innings. His last duck was against Rajasthan Royals in 2023. Notably, this is the first time since 2017 that Kohli has been dismissed for zero while chasing runs, with the previous instance occurring against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Earlier, LSG set a formidable target, scoring 209 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their 20 overs. Mitchell Marsh and Arshin Kulkarni provided a solid start, adding 95 runs for the first wicket. Arshin contributed 17 runs off 24 balls. Nicholas Pooran also made a significant impact, scoring 38 runs off 23 balls. Marsh and Pooran combined for a remarkable partnership of 70 runs for the second wicket in just 41 balls.

Marsh continued his aggressive batting, completing his century off 49 balls. He finished with an impressive 111 runs from 56 balls, hitting 9 fours and 9 sixes. In the final overs, LSG captain Rishabh Pant scored an unbeaten 32 runs off just 10 balls, with a strike rate of 320, including 4 fours and 2 sixes. Aiden Markram remained not out with 1 run. RCB’s bowlers struggled throughout the match, with Josh Hazlewood taking 1 wicket for 49 runs in 4 overs, while Rasikh Salam also claimed 1 wicket, conceding 53 runs in his 4-over spell.
