Beijing, July 28: During an official visit to China, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Hua Chunying on Monday. The discussions emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the India-China border areas.
The Indian Embassy in China shared on social media platform ‘X’, stating, “Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Hua Chunying. Both sides reviewed all aspects of India-China relations. They discussed ways to advance the vision of the leaders of both countries, highlighting India and China as partners and collaborators in development opportunities. This includes mutually beneficial steps to promote trade, economic ties, culture, and people-to-people connections. Both parties acknowledged the significance of maintaining peace and stability in the border regions.”
Earlier on Monday, in Beijing, Foreign Secretary Misri also met with Hong Liang, Deputy Secretary-General of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). They discussed ways to enhance political and public engagement between the two nations.
The Indian Embassy noted on ‘X’, “Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met with Hong Liang. They discussed strengthening political ties and relations among the people.”
Misri’s official visit to China began with a meeting with Sun Haiyan, Deputy Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
The Indian Embassy reported, “Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri started his official visit to China with a meeting with Sun Haiyan. Both sides discussed ways to implement the leaders’ guidelines for bilateral relations, addressing key issues of mutual importance, and enhancing contacts at the political, people-to-people, academic, and think-tank levels.”
