Vijays Spiritual Journey Continues Post-Election, Heads to Shirdi After Tiruchendur

Chennai, April 29: Following the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections of 2026, actor-turned-politician Joseph Vijay has embarked on a spiritual journey. The founder of TVK departed for Shirdi on Wednesday after visiting the Tiruchendur temple the previous day.

On Wednesday morning, Vijay left his residence in Neelankarai, Chennai, and arrived at the airport. He took a private flight to Shirdi from the old terminal around 11:10 AM. In Shirdi, he plans to offer prayers at the renowned Sai Baba temple. He is expected to return to Chennai late at night or by Thursday morning.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Vijay participated in the ‘Vishwarupa Darshan’ at the famous Murugan temple in Tiruchendur. His visit attracted a large number of supporters, creating a significant crowd and making the event widely discussed.

It’s noteworthy that voting for all 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu took place in a single phase on April 23. This election is considered one of the most talked-about in recent years.

After the voting concluded, several political leaders have distanced themselves from public activities temporarily ahead of the counting of votes scheduled for May 4.

Vijay’s temple visits are seen as a significant message following his first major electoral contest. His party, TVK, contested in multiple seats this time, marking his formal entry into active politics.

Political analysts believe that such religious journeys often carry political implications in Tamil Nadu, given the deep connection between religion and public life in the region.

The public is keenly observing Vijay’s activities post-election. His journey to Shirdi, following Tiruchendur, reflects a slight distance from politics while maintaining his public presence.
