Vijay Thanks PM Modi for Congratulating TVKs Remarkable Performance in Tamil Nadu Elections

New Delhi, May 5: The Tamilaga Vetrik Katchi (TVK) achieved a remarkable victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Winning 108 out of 234 seats, TVK outperformed major parties like DMK and AIADMK. In response to this mandate, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated TVK and extended his best wishes, prompting party leader Vijay to express his gratitude.

Vijay reposted PM Modi’s message on the social media platform X, thanking the Prime Minister’s office for the well-wishes. He emphasized that the welfare of the people is their sole objective.

He stated that they will rise above politics to focus on the progress of the state and the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu. He expressed hope for cooperation from the central government in this endeavor.

Earlier, PM Modi had expressed heartfelt gratitude to the voters of Tamil Nadu who supported the NDA in the assembly elections. He assured that they will always strive to address the public’s issues and improve their quality of life. He congratulated TVK for their outstanding performance and promised that the central government would make every effort for the progress and welfare of Tamil Nadu.

Following TVK’s emergence as the largest party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, party president C. Joseph Vijay formally claimed to form the government in the state on Tuesday.

He has written to Governor Rajendra Arlekar requesting a meeting and the opportunity to prove their majority in the assembly.

In his message sent to Lok Bhavan (formerly Raj Bhavan), Vijay stated that the party, having won 108 seats in the 234-member assembly, has received a clear mandate as the largest party. He asserted that based on this position, TVK has the right to be invited to form the next government in the state.

Vijay remarked, “We are the largest party with 108 MLAs and have the right to form the government. We request the opportunity to prove our majority.”

He also requested additional time to gather support, stating that they could prove their majority within 15 days.
