The oath-taking ceremony will take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar formally invited Vijay to form the government after he submitted the letter proving majority in the 234-member assembly.

Sources indicate that in the first phase of cabinet formation, Vijay is expected to be joined by nine ministers who will also take the oath. A potential list of ministers and their departments has emerged ahead of the ceremony.

Senior leader K.A. Sengottaiyan is anticipated to handle the Public Works Department (PWD), while N. Anand may be assigned the Municipal Administration portfolio. C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar is likely to take charge of the Electricity Department.

Adhav Arjun is expected to receive the Sports Development portfolio, and Raj Mohan may become the minister for the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department. V.N.S. Mustafa is anticipated to oversee Minority Welfare in the new cabinet.

According to sources, P. Venkataramanan may be given the School Education portfolio, while Arun Raj could manage Commercial Taxes and Registration. The Congress party is also expected to secure a place in the cabinet, with indications that leaders Rajesh Kumar and Vishwanathan may be appointed as cabinet ministers.

TVK emerged as the largest party in the Tamil Nadu elections but fell short of a simple majority. Subsequently, Vijay garnered support from Congress, CPI, CPI-M, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), bringing the alliance’s total to 120 legislators, surpassing the majority mark.
