Vice President Pays Tribute to Former Uttarakhand CM Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri

Dehradun, May 20: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan visited the residence of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Major General (Retd) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri in Vasant Vihar on Wednesday to pay his respects. During the visit, he met with the family and expressed his condolences. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was also present.

Vice President Radhakrishnan shared on the social media platform X, “I paid heartfelt tributes at the residence of former Union Minister and Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Major General (Retd) B.C. Khanduri in Dehradun. He will be remembered as an extraordinary leader, distinguished soldier, and seasoned administrator who dedicated his entire life to the service of the nation and its people.”

He further noted that Major General Khanduri’s contributions to improving connectivity and strengthening India’s road infrastructure will leave an indelible legacy on the country’s development path.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Dhami also took to X, stating, “I joined Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) Gurmeet Singh, and a large number of party workers and the public in giving a respectful farewell to the late Major General Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri at his residence in Vasant Vihar. For me, he was not just a senior leader but a guardian, source of inspiration, and mentor. His affection, discipline, simplicity, and dedication to national service will always inspire us. The values, guidance, and ideals he imparted in public life are invaluable to me. I pray that his soul finds a place in the divine and that his grieving family and supporters find the strength to bear this immense loss.”

In another post, CM Dhami wrote, “I paid my respects to the mortal remains of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Major General (Retd) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri at the BJP state office in Dehradun. He made significant contributions to the service of Mother India during his military career. Subsequently, he chose the path of public service through the Bharatiya Janata Party, focusing on the nation’s interests and social service. His disciplined life, simple personality, and dedication to public welfare will always inspire us. His passing is an irreplaceable loss for the BJP family. His fearlessness, strong leadership, and unwavering commitment to principles will continue to inspire us all.”
