– Chief Minister attends 483rd birth anniversary function of Maharana Pratap
– Young generation should work with the spirit of self-respect and dedication
Udaipur / Jaipur : Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that the young generation is getting inspired by Maharana Pratap’s sacrifice, valour and bravery by celebrating his birth anniversary every year. The saga of his bravery and sacrifice not only inspires the people of Rajasthan but also the country and abroad to move ahead with the spirit of self-respect.
Gehlot was addressing the 483rd birth anniversary function of Maharana Pratap at Sukhadia Rangmanch organised by Mewar Kshatriya Mahasabha and Municipal Corporation on Monday. He said that it is the duty of the present generation to hand over this glorious saga of valour as heritage to the coming generations. We should take an oath to work only for the service of humanity. He said that let us make the places Chavand, Gogunda, Haldighati etc associated with the life of Maharana Pratap, which are the identity of Mewar, as special.
Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Board
The Chief Minister in the function announced to form Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Board. This board will make the young generation aware about Pratap’s bravery. The board will prepare a plan for course content, heritage conservation, new constructions, research on various languages, publicity of the publications, national and international awards, lectures, kavi sammelans etc. This will build an atmosphere for the new generation.
Gehlot also announced development works of Samadhi of Maharana Pratap, Place of coronation and other places with a cost of Rs 5 crore and allotment of land for hostel near Meera Medpat Girls’ Hostel. He said that an announcement has already been made to make the Maharana Pratap panorama for Rs 4 crore and work order has also been issued.
Mewar Complex will prove effective for conservation of history
The Chief Minister said that the Mewar Complex was announced when he was the Union Minister. Under this, development of all the places related with Maharana Pratap was started from the tourism point of view. Efforts were made that domestic and foreign tourists know about the glorious history of these places. Gehlot said that if the Mewar Complex is made effective then it will prove effective in conserving history. He requested the Member of Parliament from Chittorgarh to retrieve the old files related to the complex from the Central Government and get the development work done under this. He said that he would also urge the Prime Minister for this by writing a letter.

Joshi, former Minister of State for Education and MLA Govind Singh Dotasara, MLA Smt Preeti Shaktawat, Dharamnarayan Joshi, Phool Singh Meena, former Union Minister Dr Girija Vyas, Municipal Corporation Mayor Govind Singh Tank, Deputy Mayor Paras Singhvi, Bhanu Singh Kanawat and Chandraveer Singh Karelia from the organising sanstha along with other public representatives and a large number of people were present on this occasion.
