Vedanta inches up despite reporting 42% fall in Q3 consolidated net profit

The scrip opened at Rs. 319.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 324.85 and Rs. 316.40 respectively. So far 368575 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 440.75 on 11-Apr-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 206.10 on 01-Jul-2022.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 334.40 and Rs. 313.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 119117.64 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.69%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 19.01% and 11.31% respectively.

Vedanta has reported a fall of 27.64% in its net profit at Rs 4,684 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2022 as compared to Rs 6,473 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased 4.72% at Rs 20,225 crore for Q3FY23 as compared to Rs 21,227 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

On the consolidated basis, the company has reported fall of 42.25% in its net profit at Rs 3,092 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2022 as compared to Rs 5,354 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company increased 0.42% at Rs 34,818 crore for Q3FY23 as compared to Rs 34,674 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
