Ahmedabad, August 13: Pawan Kumar Chandana, co-founder and CEO of Skyroot Aerospace, emphasized the importance of the ‘Vande Bharatam’ initiative launched by Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani. He stated that this initiative provides a vital platform for startup founders from small towns.
In a conversation with the media, Chandana shared his experience as a judge for the program. He noted that this initiative is crucial for India, as it offers entrepreneurs a chance to showcase their ideas and secure funding and mentorship.
Chandana highlighted that many startups in India are making significant strides, developing new technologies domestically. Initiatives like ‘Vande Bharatam’ will provide them with the necessary platform to thrive.
He pointed out that several space startups participated in ‘Vande Bharatam’, indicating a wave of innovation in the space sector. Currently, India holds a 2% share in the global space market. To increase this to 10%, the country needs a substantial number of space startups.
One startup founder remarked that ‘Vande Bharatam’ is an excellent platform, featuring prominent venture capitalists and mentors. This opportunity allowed them to present their ideas and even receive funding offers.
Another startup founder mentioned their development of an aircraft capable of flying like a helicopter. They expressed gratitude for the chance to showcase their idea and engage in detailed discussions with Karan Adani.
The ‘Vande Bharatam’ initiative has received approximately 26,000 entries. Applications came from every state and union territory, featuring ideas related to mobility, sustainability, technology, agriculture, defense, healthcare, manufacturing, education, and more.
The goal of ‘Vande Bharatam’ is to connect promising innovators with top mentors and industry leaders, providing them with recognition and opportunities to transform their ideas into successful businesses. This initiative is rooted in Gautam Adani’s deep belief in giving back to the country that has enabled him to dream, create, and progress, while also paving the way for others to do the same.
