Vaibhavs Winning Mantra: Focus on the Ball, Not the Bowler, Says Dhruv Jurel

New Chandigarh, May 28: In the IPL 2026 eliminator match, Rajasthan Royals (RR) triumphed over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 47 runs. The star of RR’s remarkable victory was Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who scored a blistering 97 runs off just 29 balls. RR batsman Dhruv Jurel emphasized that Vaibhav’s mantra is to focus on the ball rather than the bowler.

During a press conference, Jurel praised Vaibhav’s approach to the game. He stated, “The best thing about Vaibhav is that he doesn’t plan anything. He practices hard and always trusts himself. Whenever he steps onto the field, he follows this principle. His self-belief is unwavering; he never doubts his abilities.”

Jurel explained that Vaibhav concentrates solely on the ball, not the bowler. “In our academy, we were taught to focus on the ball, not the bowler. We often get caught up thinking about the bowler’s reputation. However, Vaibhav only sees the ball. Nothing else matters. His mantra is that the bowler doesn’t affect him.”

In the eliminator match, Vaibhav reached his half-century in just 16 balls, making him one of the fastest to do so in IPL playoff history. He also set a record for the most sixes in a single IPL season, having hit 65 sixes so far in IPL 2026.

Vaibhav broke Chris Gayle’s previous record of 59 sixes set in 2012. He has become the highest run-scorer among uncapped players in IPL history, amassing 680 runs in 15 matches this season. In his explosive innings of 97 runs, he hit 12 sixes, making him the player with the most sixes in IPL playoff matches.
