New Delhi, August 1: Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, Saidov Bakhtiyar Odilovich, will embark on an official visit to India from August 2 to August 5. According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), during this trip, Odilovich will meet President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and engage in discussions with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
Additionally, he will participate in a business forum scheduled to take place in Delhi.
As per the itinerary, Saidov Bakhtiyar Odilovich will arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (Terminal-3) in New Delhi at 10:45 PM on August 2. The following day, on August 3, he will pay a courtesy visit to the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan at 10:20 AM. At 11:30 AM, he will attend the business forum. Later that evening at 6:00 PM, he will hold a bilateral meeting with External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar at Hyderabad House. On August 4, he is scheduled to participate in various events in Delhi. The visit will conclude on August 5, with his departure from New Delhi at 1:45 PM.
On July 20, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar spoke with Odilovich over the phone to discuss strengthening ties between the two nations. Jaishankar noted on the social media platform ‘X’, “Had a good conversation today with Uzbekistan’s Saidov Bakhtiyar. We discussed enhancing our bilateral relations, including trade, investment, and other areas.”
Odilovich mentioned that their meaningful phone conversation with Jaishankar led to an agreement to maintain regular communication.
He emphasized that the relationship between Uzbekistan and India, based on a strategic partnership, is continuously strengthening, with significant progress in all areas of cooperation.
Furthermore, both sides shared insights on the schedule for upcoming high-level bilateral engagements and discussed enhancing collaboration within international organizations. They agreed to maintain close, reliable, and regular dialogue between their foreign ministries.
In May, the 17th round of Foreign Office Consultations between India and Uzbekistan was held in New Delhi, focusing on cooperation in trade and investment, tourism, technology, innovation, energy, education, and other sectors. Officials from both countries also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
