Mumbai, May 11: Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela is set to reprise her role as Poonam Mishra in the new season of the web series ‘Inspector Avinash.’ In a recent discussion, she shared insights about her character and acting approach.
Urvashi noted that her public persona has often been associated with glamour. However, she believes that projects like ‘Inspector Avinash’ require genuine emotions rather than mere visual appeal.
She explained that to evolve as an artist, it is essential to let go of ‘performance vanity,’ which is the obsession with looking perfect. “People often expect perfection from me in every frame, every expression, and every moment because of my glamorous image. But projects like ‘Inspector Avinash’ demand emotional honesty over visual perfection,” she stated.
The actress emphasized the importance of being present in her role. “In real life, people facing tough situations do not think about how they look. They are simply reacting, battling circumstances, and feeling emotions. Understanding this truth was crucial for me as an actor,” she added.
Urvashi also mentioned that conveying emotions through restrained acting—using fewer words and subtle gestures—is more challenging. “Silence, stillness, and controlled emotions require a different kind of confidence. Sometimes, portraying truth with less is harder than being overly dramatic,” she explained.
