UPL surges on raising second tranche of $700 million sustainability linked loan

UPL is currently trading at Rs. 760.00, up by 12.95 points or 1.73% from its previous closing of Rs. 747.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 755.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 760.00 and Rs. 750.25 respectively. So far 17365 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 864.75 on 08-Jun-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 466.50 on 05-Jan-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 767.00 and Rs. 740.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 57855.23 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 27.96%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 53.10% and 10.79% respectively.

UPL has raised a second tranche of $700 million sustainability linked loan (SSL) on December 31, 2021 with a reduction of interest cost by 35bps and an opportunity for a further reduction of 5bps on achievement of sustainability indicators agreed with the banks. The first tranche of $750 million was raised in March and April 2021. Of the $1.45 billion, the debt maturity for $1.25 billion gets extended by two years to FY 2026 (against FY2024 earlier). The SLL also provides a complete pre-payment flexibility.
