During the meeting which lasted for around two hours the SP president thanked the booth presidents for his victory in Karhal by a huge margin of votes and congratulated them as well. The workers on the occasion asked Akhilesh not to vacate Karhal seat and remain an MLA as it will give strength to the party in the area. On the demand of the workers he assured and said that the decision will be taken by the party high command. The SP president said, “Whatever suggestions you all have given will also be discussed with the people of Azamgarh and a decision will be taken at the party level.” It may be noted that Akhilesh is also MP from Azamgarh and there are speculations that he might vacate Karhal seat.
