Unique Blend of Patriotism and Environment at Varada School: Live Drums, Tiranga Rally, and Tree Plantation

Udaipur, 14 August (Kiran News) : A unique celebration of patriotism and environmental consciousness was witnessed on Thursday at the Government Senior Secondary School in Varada, near Udaipur. The event featured a memorable live drum performance of patriotic songs by renowned drummer Shivalika Damani, who resides in the United States, accompanied by enthusiastic participation from the students. Over ten patriotic songs echoed across the campus, sung with energy and zeal by the children.

Sculptor and teacher Hemant Joshi shared that this initiative by Shivalika Damani aims to ignite musical interest and instil a strong sense of patriotism among students. During the programme, renowned sketch artist Rachna Damani and Sunil Laddha spoke to the students about the value of art, encouraging them to practice sketching regularly to enhance creativity and concentration.

As part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, supported by Choksi Heraeus Group, students and guests together carried out a tree plantation drive on the school premises. All participants pledged to promote environmental awareness and take care of the saplings planted.

The event also featured a grand Tiranga Yatra (tricolour rally) that began from the school, where students, teachers, and villagers marched holding the national flag, raising slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.” The rally saw the presence of several prominent individuals, including teacher Deshraj, social worker Satyanarayan Laddha, Sunil Kothari, and Ambalal Mali.

School Principal Manoharlal Suthar welcomed the guests and remarked that such programmes not only deepen patriotic sentiments among students but also sensitise them towards art, music, and environmental responsibility. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, parents, and the local community.
