Kolkata, February 23: Union Minister Annpurna Devi has launched a strong attack on TMC Chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the SIR issue. She expressed concerns, stating that it seems Mamata Banerjee has lost her sanity.
In an interview, Annpurna Devi remarked that the Election Commission is handling the SIR process transparently. However, the way the TMC leader has protested indicates that their fraudulent voting practices are coming to an end, prompting her to travel from Kolkata to Delhi.
She criticized the state government, asserting that it has never prioritized the welfare of the people of Bengal. Instead, it has focused on aiding infiltrators. The public is now prepared to respond in the upcoming assembly elections. Despite having a female Chief Minister, the safety of women remains a concern, with ongoing incidents of rape. Annpurna Devi suggested that if Mamata Banerjee had worked on women’s safety instead of raising the SIR issue, the situation might have been different. She accused Banerjee of consistently prioritizing the interests of infiltrators over the welfare of Bengal’s citizens.
Discussing the issue of infiltration, Annpurna Devi stated that Bengal has become a haven for neighboring countries. It has become easy for individuals to fraudulently join the voter list, allowing them to claim Indian citizenship. She highlighted that the criminal activities occurring in Bengal are often protected by the government.
In response to Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar’s comments on the India Bloc coalition, Annpurna Devi noted that the alliance is gradually falling apart. She emphasized that the mindset of opposition leaders is becoming increasingly clear to the public. The citizens are aware of their continuous anti-national rhetoric. The recent protests by the Youth Congress at the AI Summit indicate that they are mentally exhausted.
