Moscow, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : Ukraine has launched a counteroffensive against Russian attacks, targeting vital oil industry facilities and logistics hubs. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry confirmed that long-range missiles were deployed to strike locations that significantly contribute to Russia’s war efforts.
These facilities generate billions of dollars, which are reportedly used to finance the ongoing conflict against Ukraine. The ministry announced on the social media platform X that their long-range strikes had a substantial impact on the Moscow region, hitting key sites within Russia’s oil sector and logistics network.
The ministry emphasized that these targeted locations play a crucial role in sustaining Russia’s military operations. “These are sites that generate billions in revenue, which fund the war machinery,” the statement read.
In executing these strikes, Ukraine utilized various missile systems, including FP-1, RZ-100, Mech-2000, Palyanitsia, Vendetta, Luti, Bars, Flamingo, Sichin, and Pelican. The Defense Ministry expressed gratitude to the troops involved in the successful operation, which saw collaboration between Ukraine’s Security Service, unmanned systems forces, special operations forces, and intelligence agencies. Restrictions were also imposed on a site in the Voronezh region.
The ministry called for an end to what it described as Russia’s brutal war, urging Moscow to choose peace over building layers of air defense at the expense of other regions. They highlighted the need for political will to address issues of energy and food security.
In a recent escalation, Ukraine’s attack was a direct response to a Russian drone strike that targeted a monastery, resulting in the death of a religious leader and injuries to four others. The conflict continues to escalate, with both sides engaged in a cycle of retaliatory attacks.
