Pudukkottai, April 4: Tamil Nadu’s Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin addressed a rally, taking aim at Edappadi K. Palaniswami. He emphasized that this election is a contest between the ‘Tamil Nadu Team’ and the ‘Delhi Team.’ Udhayanidhi accused Edappadi of having “rented” the AIADMK to the BJP in the 2021 elections, claiming that in the upcoming 2026 elections, Edappadi has completely “sold” the AIADMK to the BJP.
On Saturday, Udhayanidhi campaigned in the Thirumayam area of Pudukkottai district, supporting Minister Ragupathi, who is contesting from the DMK alliance for the Thirumayam assembly seat. He assured the crowd that over the past five years, they have fulfilled not only the promises made but also those that were not explicitly promised.
He stated that with this confidence, the DMK and its alliance leaders are reaching out to the people, asserting that the DMK government will be formed again. Udhayanidhi accused the AIADMK and BJP of conspiring to obstruct the ‘Women’s Rights Scheme’ (Magalir Urimai Thittam).
He remarked that Tamil Nadu is currently the number one state in India, highlighting their significant achievements. However, he questioned whether the central government has supported them. Udhayanidhi noted that the central government has denied Tamil Nadu the educational funds it deserves and is attempting to impose Hindi and Sanskrit on the state. He asked if the BJP should be allowed to establish a foothold in Tamil Nadu, framing this election as a battle between the ‘Tamil Nadu Team’ and the ‘Delhi Team.’
