According to officials, the incident took place around 11:30 PM when iron rods and pipes were being set up for slab casting at a building under construction within the airport premises. Suddenly, the metal shuttering gave way, and heavy rods and pipes fell on the workers standing below. The impact caused severe injuries to the hands and legs of three laborers.

The injured individualsโ€”identified as Abdullah, Kanhaiyalal, and Rahimโ€”were quickly rushed to the government-run Maharana Bhupal (MB) Hospital. Authorities confirmed that all three are out of danger. The incident created a panic at the site, with airport staff and Dabok police station personnel reaching the spot immediately for rescue and investigation.

The mishap has raised serious concerns over the safety protocols being followed during ongoing construction at the airport, which is currently being upgraded to meet international standards. The construction contract is reportedly handled by Nyati Engineering Company. Given that this is a high-security zone and a vital transport hub, the lapse has drawn attention from both aviation and public safety stakeholders.

Dabok Police Station Officer Hukam Singh stated, โ€œThe iron shuttering was being installed for roof casting when the rods became loose and fell on the laborers. All three were promptly hospitalized, and thankfully, their condition is stable.โ€
