Udaipur : Rajasthan will get two more Vande Bharat Express trains—for Udaipur and Indore—from Jaipur, said officials from north western railway (NWR) on Friday. Officials said that a trial run for Vande Bharat between Jaipur-Udaipur has already been conducted but the details are being finalised.
“The trial run for Vande Bharat between Jaipur-Udaipur via Ajmer, Bhilwara has already been conducted. The time recorded during the trial run between the two cities was six hours covering a distance of over 450 kms. The trial run was successful, but the exact date from when the service will start is yet to be announced. The details are being finalised and the service will start soon,” said Shashi Kiran, chief public relations officer of NWR.
Officials said that finer details like stoppages, pricing, are being finalised after which the dates will be announced. The planning is also underway for starting a Vande Bharat Express train service between Jaipur-Indore.
“A Vande Bharat Express train service is proposed between Jaipur and Indore, for which planning is being done. To reduce the load from Jaipur Junction, it is yet to be finalised whether this train service will start from Jaipur Junction or other railway stations of the city like Durgapura or Khatipura station with stoppages at Gandhinagar Jaipur and the junction railway station,” said a senior official from Jaipur division of NWR.
