Two Inter-State Drug Traffickers Arrested in Kathua, 515 Grams of Heroin Seized

Police in Kathua arrested two drug traffickers and seized 515 grams of heroin, intensifying their fight against drug trafficking in the region.

Kathua, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : A significant drug bust occurred in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, where local police apprehended two inter-state drug traffickers. The operation, led by IPS officer Mohita Sharma, resulted in the seizure of 515 grams of heroin. This action followed the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) at the Billawar police station.

Authorities reported that the arrests were part of a broader effort to identify the ‘backward linkages’ in the drug supply chain. A covert operation was meticulously planned to ensure the capture of the involved suspects. The police are now conducting additional raids in Punjab, aiming to uncover the network behind the drug supply in the state.

During interrogation, one of the suspects, Avinash Kumar, revealed the involvement of another trafficker, Jagmohan Singh, who was also implicated in the drug trade.

The police have made it clear that they are committed to a ‘zero tolerance’ policy regarding drug trafficking in Kathua district. Their goal is to dismantle the drug supply mechanisms completely and protect the youth from the dangers of substance abuse, enabling them to contribute positively to the nation’s development.
