Two Arrested in Bhiwadi for Theft of ₹1.5 Crore Copper Coils

Bhiwadi police have arrested two men for stealing copper coils worth ₹1.5 crore from a private company, involving a security guard in the scheme.

Bhiwadi, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : Bhiwadi police have arrested two individuals in connection with the theft of copper coils valued at ₹1.5 crore from a private company. The suspects allegedly collaborated with a security guard, using a drug to incapacitate warehouse staff during the heist.

According to Station House Officer Sachin Sharma, a complaint was filed by warehouse in-charge Mahesh Chandra Sharma. The incident occurred on the night of June 9, when guard Ramnarayan, gunman Mukesh Kumar, and worker Balmukund were on duty. Ramnarayan reportedly laced cold drinks with a narcotic, rendering both Mukesh and Balmukund unconscious. Following this, unidentified individuals, in collusion with the guard, disabled the warehouse cameras and loaded two copper coils into a vehicle.

Police reviewed CCTV footage from the vicinity, gathered intelligence from informants, and consulted their cyber team. They also interrogated suspects involved in other theft cases. After extensive investigation, they apprehended Shahid, son of Saleem, and Salman, son of Ishyak, both residents of Risaldaran in Sikandarabad, Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.

The duo allegedly sold the stolen copper in Noida to an unknown scrap dealer, using the proceeds for luxury items and drugs. Authorities stated that both men are habitual offenders, enticing security guards and workers into committing copper thefts.

Police confirmed that Shahid and Salman have multiple prior offenses against them. Investigations are ongoing, with efforts to recover the stolen property and further legal actions against the suspects.
