Trump Calls for Secure Ballroom in White House Following Shooting Incident

Washington, April 27: U.S. President Donald Trump has intensified his call for the establishment of a secure ballroom within the White House following a shooting incident at the Washington Hilton during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday. He emphasized that this event highlighted the risks associated with hosting large gatherings outside the presidential complex.

Just hours after being safely evacuated from the Hilton, Trump stated that the attack underscored the urgent need for a permanent and highly secure venue within the White House.

On his platform, Truth Social, he wrote, “What happened last night is exactly why our military, Secret Service, and law enforcement agencies have long been advocating for a large, secure ballroom to be built inside the White House.”

He further asserted that had there been a ballroom, the incident could have been avoided, as it would have featured top-tier security measures.

Trump has been advocating for a ballroom spanning approximately 90,000 square feet on the White House grounds for some time, but legal hurdles have stalled the project. He now insists that these obstacles must be removed immediately.

He stressed that the ballroom should be constructed as soon as possible and that it would be located within the world’s most secure building.

Debate over this proposal has been ongoing for several months, with courts reviewing whether proper procedures have been followed. Trump argued that legal challenges should be resolved swiftly, as this is a matter of national security.

The annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner typically takes place at the Washington Hilton due to the lack of sufficient space at the White House. This event attracts journalists, high-ranking officials, and numerous celebrities, making it one of America’s largest gatherings.

Trump criticized the current venue, stating it is not as secure as a specially designed location could be. He acknowledged the efforts of security agencies, noting that their actions prevented the situation from worsening. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanch also remarked that law enforcement performed their duties effectively.

In the wake of Saturday’s incident, discussions have intensified regarding how to enhance security for events involving top leaders.
