Washington, February 22: President Donald Trump has sharply criticized a recent tariff-related decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. In a statement issued after months of deliberation, he announced an immediate increase in the global tariff rate from 10% to 15%.
Trump described the Supreme Court’s ruling on tariffs as absurd. He stated, “Based on a thorough and detailed review of this poorly written and extraordinarily anti-American decision, I, as President of the United States, will raise the existing 10% worldwide tariff to 15%. Many countries have been robbing America without any reciprocity for decades. I will increase the tariff to the fully approved and legally tested level of 15%.”
In the coming months, the Trump Administration plans to establish and release new, legally sanctioned tariffs that will continue the successful process of making America great again.
Previously, following the Supreme Court’s decision, Trump had announced the implementation of a 10% tariff. He had signed an order to enforce this new tariff immediately. However, just hours later, he declared the increase to 15%.
After returning to power, Trump had announced plans to impose different tariffs on all countries based on his terms. However, the Supreme Court deemed his tariff decisions illegal, prompting the President to announce the new 15% tariff.
