Washington, March 15 ( /Sputnik) A group of truckers – dubbed the People’s Convoy – opposed to the Covid-19 vaccine mandates and other related restrictions, returned to Washington in large numbers and added to the US capital’s notorious traffic jams, NBC reported on Tuesday. The truckers convoy is back, bringing traffic to a grinding halt in parts of Washington as police block ramps to keep them from entering the city, the report said on Monday. Police blocked multiple streets and intersections but was unable to provide a specific list as most closures occurred in real-time, the report also said. The group had submitted an application to stage a two-week long protest at the National Mall in downtown Washignton, however, the National Park Service denied the request, according to the report. /SPUTNIK ACL0705
