Agartala, February 9: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha stated on Sunday that peace and inclusive development in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) can only be achieved under the governance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He emphasized that the state government is continuously working for the socio-economic development of every citizen.
While addressing an organizational meeting of the BJP at the TTAADC headquarters in Khumulwng, CM Saha noted the increasing competition among political parties to retain or regain power in the state. He stressed the need for a strong BJP-led government in the upcoming elections for the 30-member TTAADC, expected to be held in March-April.
Saha expressed encouragement at the active participation of mothers and sisters in the meeting, stating, “This gathering clearly indicates what the future of TTAADC will look like under BJP leadership.”
He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for emphasizing transparency and accountability in governance, which he believes has transformed the political culture of the country. Referring to PM Modi’s commitment to corruption-free governance, CM Saha remarked that a positive and development-oriented environment has been established across the nation and in Tripura under the BJP and NDA rule.
The Chief Minister criticized previous governments for misleading the public and allowing insurgency to thrive, resulting in halted development in many areas. He stated, “Development is not possible without peace. The BJP has helped restore peace and stability by bringing misguided elements into the mainstream. Since coming to power, our government has prioritized development.”
Saha also commented on contradictory claims regarding government formation, which he believes reflect political confusion. He mentioned that illegal encroachments in urban areas have been removed in the public interest, and despite attempts by certain groups to mislead the public, the government is considering rehabilitation measures for affected individuals.
Issuing a stern warning, the Chief Minister highlighted ongoing illegal activities in the TTAADC without legal approval. He pointed out irregularities in the formation of village committees and the political misinformation surrounding the proposed Bishramganj municipal council, stating that these activities have already been exposed.
Saha concluded, “Negative politics will not benefit the public. The BJP is committed to prioritizing development in the TTAADC while ensuring transparency, law and order, and peace. We must resolve to establish a BJP-led government in the TTAADC.”
