In a move to make mobile connectivity more affordable, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has mandated telecom operators to introduce voice-only plans, providing relief to millions of users who donโ€™t require expensive data services. In response, leading telecom players Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea (Vi) have launched cost-effective voice-only plans, enabling customers to pay only for the services they need.

Jio has rolled out two economical voice-only options:

  • โ‚น458 Plan: Offers 84 days of validity, unlimited calling across all networks, and 1,000 free SMS.
  • โ‚น1,958 Plan: A yearly plan providing 365 days of validity, unlimited calling, and 3,600 free SMS.

These plans are designed for customers seeking uninterrupted calling services without the burden of data charges.

Airtelโ€™s Voice-Only Plans

Airtel introduced two competitive voice-only plans:

  • โ‚น509 Plan: Includes 84 days of validity, unlimited calling across networks, and 900 free SMS.
  • โ‚น1,999 Plan: A 365-day plan featuring unlimited calls and 3,600 free SMS, offering long-term convenience to users.

These plans cater to Airtelโ€™s customer base looking for affordable voice services without additional data.

Viโ€™s Voice-Only Offering

Vodafone Idea has launched a single voice-only plan:

  • โ‚น1,460 Plan: Provides 270 days of validity, unlimited calling, and 100 free SMS per day.

This offering positions Vi as a competitive player in the voice-only segment, targeting customers seeking simplicity and affordability.
