Tragic Truck Accident in Noida Claims Two Lives

Noida, February 10: A tragic incident unfolded in Noida as a high-speed truck caused chaos on the roads. Late Sunday night, a severe road accident occurred near Sector 62 on the Meerut-Delhi Highway, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and leaving over six others critically injured.

Witnesses described the accident as horrific, with many people being thrown several feet into the air upon impact.

On the night of February 9, a pickup truck traveling from Meerut to Delhi lost control and collided with a stationary truck parked on the roadside. The driver of the pickup, Amit, became trapped inside the vehicle. In an attempt to rescue him, three truck drivers stopped their vehicles and tried to help.

However, during this rescue effort, a speeding truck approached from behind and crashed into the group of people and the truck drivers. This sudden second accident caused panic at the scene, resulting in multiple injuries.

The police quickly transported the injured to a nearby private hospital. Unfortunately, during treatment, two victims—Devendra (34 years old, from Dhakiya Hamid Nagar, Shahjahanpur) and Govind Chauhan (approximately 35 years old, from Faddapur Airawala Bas village, Azamgarh)—succumbed to their injuries.

Meanwhile, the conditions of Virendra (24 years old), Sahil (son of Akhtar Ali), and Hariom (35 years old) remain critical, and they continue to receive medical care. Upon receiving the news, the Sector 58 police arrived at the scene, and senior officials inspected the area with police forces. The damaged vehicles were removed from the highway with the help of NHAI cranes to restore traffic flow.

The police have taken the accused driver into custody and seized the truck. The situation at the scene is under control, and a thorough investigation is underway.
