Pune, May 10: A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Pune, Maharashtra. A 35-year-old woman, identified as Pratibha Shankar, took her own life by jumping from the eighth floor of the Urban Life Tower society in the Talegaon MIDC area after a dispute with her husband.
Reports indicate that the couple had a heated argument prior to the tragedy. In a moment of distress, Pratibha leaped from the balcony. The fall from the eighth floor resulted in her immediate death.
A resident of the society captured the entire incident on their mobile camera. The footage shows Pratibha hanging onto the balcony railing for a brief moment while bystanders shouted for her to stop. Tragically, she lost her grip and fell to the ground.
Local police arrived at the scene promptly and sent the body for post-mortem examination. They are currently investigating the underlying reasons for the dispute and whether Pratibha was provoked to commit suicide. The entire society is now engulfed in silence, with residents in shock over the incident.
This is not the first such case in Pune. On April 30, Shivani Vikas Shinde also committed suicide due to harassment from her in-laws in the Indapur taluka. Her mother filed a complaint at the police station, demanding strict action against those who tormented her daughter.
According to the complaint, Shivani was subjected to various forms of harassment by her in-laws, including her husband, brother-in-law, and mother-in-law, who doubted her character and physically abused her. Overwhelmed by the relentless torment, Shivani tragically ended her life.
