Tragic Road Accident in Bhind: 7 Dead, 18 Injured as Speeding Dumper Hits Stationary Vehicle
Bhind, February 18, 2025 A devastating road accident on National Highway-719 near Jawaharpura village, Bhind district, Madhya Pradesh, claimed the lives of seven people, leaving 18 others injured early Tuesday morning. A speeding dumper rammed into a stationary loading vehicle, also dragging a motorcycle under its wheels before halting. The injured are currently receiving treatment at hospitals in Bhind and Gwalior.

Chief Minister Announces Financial Assistance
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and announced compensation for the victims:

- โน1 lakh for each critically injured victim
- โน50,000 for those with minor injuries
The Chief Minister also instructed Bhind district administration to ensure the injured receive proper medical care and directed strict action against those responsible.
Accident Details & Eyewitness Accounts
The accident occurred around 5:00 AM when villagers from Bhawani Pura were returning home after attending a wedding in Jawaharpura. As they were boarding the loading vehicle, a high-speed dumper (MP 07 HB 7012) from Etawah crashed into it, dragging the vehicle 50 feet before hitting an electric pole. A bike rider was also dragged nearly 200 meters, leading to further casualties.
Three people died on the spot, one succumbed en route to the hospital, and three others passed away during treatment. The dumper driver and his helper fled the scene, sparking protests by angry locals who blocked the highway for over four hours, demanding the six-lane expansion of NH-719.
Victims of the Tragedy
Among the seven deceased are:
- Arun Kaushal (21) Aspiring Indian Army recruit, only son in his family
- Gudi Kaushal (55) Wife of a retired government clerk
- Rajkumari Jatav (56) Anganwadi worker, mother of one son
- Pradyumn Jatav (24) Married in July 2024, lost both parents, survived by a brother
- Hemlata Jatav (22) Newlywed wife of Pradyumn
- Mohini Jatav (11) Youngest victim
- Saroj Jatav (52) Resident of Bhawani Pura
Several injured were rushed to Bhind District Hospital, while six critically injured victims were referred to Gwalior for advanced treatment.
Protests and Police Response
Following the accident, enraged locals staged a protest, blocking traffic on the highway and demanding immediate road safety improvements. The protest saw slogans raised against the Collector, SP, and local representatives. In response, Bhind Collector Sanjeev Srivastava, SP Asit Yadav, SDM Akhilesh Sharma, and DSP Deepak Tomar arrived at the scene to pacify the crowd and assure them of necessary action. A heavy police force from four stations was deployed to control the situation.
