
Lucknow, May 14: The passing of Prateek Yadav, son of Samajwadi Party founder and former Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, has plunged Uttar Pradesh politics and the Yadav family into deep mourning. His body was taken from his residence for the last rites, drawing a large crowd of family, relatives, supporters, and leaders from various political parties.
The news of Prateek Yadav’s untimely death sent shockwaves through political circles. Dimple Yadav, a Member of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party, paid her last respects, visibly emotional alongside family members. Many party workers and well-wishers also gathered to honor his memory.
During this time, several leaders from the Samajwadi Party expressed their condolences to the family. SP MP Singh Patel described the incident as extremely tragic and called for a thorough investigation. He noted that the post-mortem report indicated signs of injury, raising numerous questions. “I was stunned when I learned of this incident. If there was any foul play, strict action must be taken against those responsible. The mention of three old injury marks in the post-mortem is a serious concern,” he stated.
Shivpal Singh Yadav, National General Secretary of the Samajwadi Party, also expressed profound sorrow over Prateek Yadav’s passing. He said, “His sudden departure is extremely painful for all of us. The entire family is in mourning. We pray to God to grant peace to the departed soul.”
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya visited the family to express his condolences. He remarked, “It is heartbreaking for anyone to leave this world at such a young age. This is a tragic moment not just for the family but for society as a whole. May God give the family the strength to bear this sorrow.”
He added that the incident is shocking for everyone. “When a young person suddenly leaves us, it is a loss not just for one family but for the entire community,” he said. Samajwadi Party MLA Armaan Khan also described the event as tragic, stating that the loss of someone so young is deeply saddening and has affected the entire political family. He prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
Uttar Pradesh government minister Hansraj Vishwakarma expressed his deep sadness over the incident, stating, “I pray to God that his soul finds peace. Losing someone at such a young age is very painful.”
Meanwhile, UP government minister Rakesh Sachan remarked that no one could have imagined Prateek Yadav would leave so soon. He described it as a significant loss for both politics and society.
