Ajmer, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : A tragic incident in Ajmer, Rajasthan, has left the community in shock after three members of a single family took their own lives. The incident occurred on Saturday night in the Gadhi Malian area of Adarsh Nagar. The deceased include 59-year-old Ashok Sharma, his 52-year-old wife Indra Sharma, and their 20-year-old daughter, Diksha.
Initial investigations reveal that the family ingested poison, specifically a pesticide known as Sulfas. The event is believed to have taken place between 7:30 and 8 PM. Family members rushed Ashok, Indra, and Diksha to Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead upon arrival. Their bodies have been placed in the hospital’s mortuary.
Upon receiving news of the incident, Omprakash Meena, the police chief of Adarsh Nagar, arrived at the scene with a police team. They assessed the situation and initiated an investigation, calling in a forensic team to assist.
Reports indicate that the couple’s son, Gaurav, was also present in the house at the time. Gaurav, who resides in Jaipur, had returned to Ajmer just two days prior. The family’s daughter-in-law is currently at her parental home. Ashok Sharma worked in the furniture business.
The reasons behind this tragic collective suicide remain unclear. Authorities are interviewing family members and neighbors to gather more information. They are also investigating whether a suicide note was left and the circumstances surrounding the consumption of the poison.
The police have stated that further details regarding the cause of death will be available once the post-mortem report is released. The news of the parents and their daughter’s deaths has left relatives devastated, while discussions about the incident circulate throughout the area.
