
Lucknow, May 25: A tragic road accident in the capital of Uttar Pradesh resulted in the deaths of two young bikers late last night. The police have handed over the bodies to the families after post-mortem examinations.
According to information from the Lucknow Police Commissioner’s media cell, the incident occurred around 10 PM near the Hanuman Temple in the Banthra market area. The victims, 19-year-old Deepanshu from Lala Kheda Ramchaura and 20-year-old Kamal from Gauri, were riding their motorcycle when an unidentified vehicle collided with them. The impact was so severe that their bike veered off the road, leaving both young men critically injured.
Upon receiving the accident report, local police rushed to the scene. They quickly transported the injured to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Sarojininagar via ambulance. Unfortunately, doctors declared both Deepanshu and Kamal dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Family members of the deceased arrived at the scene shortly after being informed. Following the completion of necessary formalities, the bodies were handed over to them. The police are currently searching for the vehicle involved in the accident using CCTV footage and other means. The Lucknow Police Commissioner’s media cell stated that legal action will be taken upon receiving a formal complaint. The area remains calm.
Earlier on Friday, a high-speed unidentified truck had collided with a motorcycle in the Sarojininagar area. According to Sarojininagar Police Station Officer Rajdev Ram Prajapati, three men—Sanjay (45), Virendra (44), and Kamal (45)—were riding together after work when the truck struck them from behind near the Mehrab Auto Movers workshop on the Nadarganj-Amousi Railway Station road. The collision caused all three to fall off their bike, resulting in the immediate deaths of Sanjay and Kamal, while Virendra sustained serious injuries. The truck driver fled the scene after the incident.
