Traffic Restrictions in Hyderabad Ahead of PM Modis Visit

Hyderabad, May 10: In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city on Sunday, Hyderabad police have implemented traffic restrictions on several major routes. This initiative aims to minimize inconvenience for the public.

Traffic restrictions will be in effect from 1 PM to 10 PM in the jurisdictions of the Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Malkajgiri police commissioners. Certain areas of the city will experience traffic limitations and temporary closures.

Authorities have advised citizens to avoid specific road segments along the route from Begumpet Airport to Cyberabad’s Hi-Tech City, where the Prime Minister will inaugurate various development projects and the Sindhu Hospital. In case of any issues, traffic police are available for assistance.

Upon arriving at Begumpet Airport from Bengaluru, the Prime Minister will travel by road to the HICC in Cyberabad, where he will lay the foundation stone for several development projects worth approximately ₹9,377 crores, inaugurate them, and dedicate them to the nation.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Sindhu Hospital, a non-profit institution equipped with state-of-the-art facilities that focuses on multi-specialty quaternary care for cancer patients.

Following this, he will address a public gathering at Parade Ground in Secunderabad, where he will also launch various development projects.

For this gathering, over 2,000 police personnel, along with special forces, have been deployed under the leadership of Malkajgiri Police Commissioner B. Sumathi to ensure robust security, crowd management, and public safety.

CCTV cameras have been installed in a joint command and control room for real-time monitoring. Special teams are conducting anti-sabotage and bomb disposal checks, with the deployment of Octopus, NSG, and other special forces. SHE teams will also be stationed for women’s safety, while emergency medical and fire services will be on standby.

The police have announced that cameras, bags, helmets, water bottles, sharp objects, and electronic devices are prohibited at the public gathering site.

The public is urged to avoid traffic congestion by steering clear of MG Road, RP Road, and SD Road in Secunderabad from 2 PM to 10 PM.

Passengers heading to Secunderabad Railway Station are advised to leave early to ensure timely arrival. Citizens are encouraged to utilize metro rail services wherever possible.

Commissioner Sumathi confirmed that all security and traffic arrangements for the gathering have been finalized. She stated that the police are providing advance notifications regarding changes to traffic routes. Citizens are requested to exercise caution and adhere to guidelines.

“We anticipate that around 100,000 people will attend the event. Arrangements have been made to accommodate this potential crowd,” she added.
