TPWODL GM held for possessing disproportionate assets of Rs.3 crore

Bhubaneswar, Mar 12 : Tata Power Western Odisha Distribution Ltd. (TPWODL) General Manager Santosh Kumar Darjee was arrested by the Odisha vigilance on Saturday for possessing disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 3.01 crore. Vigilance sources here said Darjee was arrested and forwarded to the court of Special Judge Vigilance, Sambalpur A case was registered against Darjee, and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 PC Act, 1988 as amended by Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Darjee, simultaneous house searches were conducted on Friday by the vigilance sleuths. During house searches, movable and immovable assets worth over Rs.3.01 Crore were unearthed in the name of Darjee and his family members. Assets unearthed included One Duplex house in name of his spouse in Raipur, One residential double storied building at Pradhanpara, in Sambalpur worth about Rs.88.15 Lakh, Rs 7.20 lakh in cash, Bank deposits in name of Darjee and his family members worth over Rs.56.59 Lakhs. This apart deposits in different Insurance Companies worth over Rs.66.2 Lakhs.2 plots in Ainthapali area of Sambalpur. 2 four wheelers worth Rs.20.59 Lakhs., 2 two wheelers worth Rs.4.61 Lakhs. Gold jewellery worth over Rs.10.26 Lakhs, Household articles worth over Rs.14.27 Lakhs were also seized. The General Manager was found in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of 151 percent of his known sources of income. BD DP BM
