TN paddler dies in accident in Meghalaya, CM announces Rs 10 lakh solatium

Chennai, Apr 18 : Promising Table Tennis player from Chennai, 18-year-old Vishwa Deenadayalan, died in a road accident in Meghalaya while proceeding to participate in the 83rd Senior National and Inter-State championship beginning from today. He was part of the Tamizhaga Table Tennis Association (TTTA) State men’s team. He was travelling from Guwuhati when the car in which he was travelling along with three other paddlers was hit by a truck. While Viswa and the car driver died on the spot, three three paddlers–R. Santosh Kumar, D. Kishore Kumar and S. Abhinash Prasannaji–escaped with injuries. Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi and Chief Minister M K Stalin expressed grief and anguish over the death of the promising paddler from the State. In a tweet, the Governor expressed grief and deepest condolences to the bereaved family of Vishwa, the bright paddler of Tamil Nadu who lost his life in an accident in Meghalaya. He prayed for speedy recovery of those injured. Stalin tweeted,”Shocked beyond words to hear about the heartbreaking & untimely demise of our young, promising Table Tennis player Vishwa Deenadayalan. He was a legend-in-making and it pains me that he left us too soon.” “I offer my deepest condolences to his family, friends & sports fraternity”, he said. Later, in a statement, he announced a solatium of Rs ten lakh to Vishwa’s family from the Chief Minister’s Relief fund. GV 1150
