Chennai, Mar 9 : The Tamil Nadu Budget for the year 2022-23 will be presented in the Assembly Hall at the Fort St.George on March 18 by Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan. Assembly Speaker M Appavu told reporters here last evening that the ensuing session of the House will commence in the traditional Assembly hall on March 18 when the Finance Minister will present the budget at 1000 hrs on that day. After the presentation of the paperless Budget, the Business Advisory Committee will meet at the Speaker’s chamber to decide on the duration of the session. Appavu said the Finance Minister will present the Vote of Accounts for 2022-23 and the final supplementary estimates for 2021-22 in the House on March 24. He said the Question Hour during the upcoming Assembly session will be “telecast live” like last time. As there has been significant dip in daily COVID cases, the Tamil Nadu government decided to hold the budget session in the traditional Assembly hall after a gap of two year. In view of the COVID pandemic, the session was held at the more spacious Kalaivanar Arangam to maintain social distancing among the members. GV 1303
