Bengaluru, April 6: In an exhilarating match on Sunday, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) triumphed over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 43 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium during IPL 2026. Tim David’s explosive performance, scoring an unbeaten 70 runs off just 25 balls with eight sixes, earned him the Player of the Match award.
After the game, David expressed high praise for former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik, who serves as RCB’s batting coach and mentor.
David stated, “Working with Dinesh Karthik is incredibly valuable. Learning from such an experienced player continuously enhances our cricket. We focus on our basics and then advance the game according to our strengths.”
Karthik has been one of the best finishers for RCB. He was appointed as a mentor and batting coach in IPL 2025, leading to a significant aggressive transformation in the team’s batting, especially among middle and lower-order batsmen. In a light-hearted moment, David joked about his 106-meter six, sharing that the team has competitions during training to hit sixes onto the roof. “It was a lot of fun to get the ball mid-game and send it straight to the roof,” he added.
