
Jammu, February 17: Three prisoners, including two Pakistani nationals, escaped from an observation home located in the RS Pura area of Jammu district on Monday.
According to official sources, the incident occurred on Monday evening when the prisoners attacked the police personnel on duty, injuring them before fleeing the premises.
The escape took place around 5:15 PM, as the inmates reportedly assaulted the officers and managed to escape.
The fugitives have been identified as Karajit Singh, also known as Gugga, a resident of Dableh, RS Pura, and two Pakistani nationals, Mohammad Sunullah and Ahsan Anwar. The police have registered a case and are actively investigating the incident.
Special teams have been formed to apprehend the escapees, and a comprehensive search operation has been launched.
Immediately following the incident, police mobilized and cordoned off the surrounding areas, deploying multiple teams to capture the fugitives.
Efforts are ongoing to trace the sequence of events leading to the escape, and further information will be shared as the investigation progresses.
The Jammu police confirmed that special teams have been established and raids are being conducted at various locations to locate the escaped prisoners.
The observation home in RS Pura is operated by the Jammu Social Welfare Department and was established in 1988. It serves as a facility for juveniles in conflict with the law, providing them with food, shelter, and counseling sessions to prevent future legal issues.
