Three Arrested for Creating and Sharing Obscene AI-Generated Images of Actress Rukmini Vasant

Bengaluru, June 19: The Karnataka State Cyber Command has arrested three individuals for creating and disseminating obscene images and videos of actress Rukmini Vasant using artificial intelligence technology. This action follows a complaint filed by the actress herself.

A case was registered at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Bengaluru under various sections of the Information Technology Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 2023.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused utilized AI technology to fabricate inappropriate images and videos of the actress, which were then circulated on social media. According to police reports, this was done with the intent to tarnish the actress’s image and present her in a derogatory manner.

Authorities stated that this act caused significant harm to the actress’s reputation and privacy, leading to mental harassment and the propagation of a false image among the public.

A special investigation team was formed to identify and apprehend the suspects. Based on the evidence collected during the inquiry, three individuals were arrested, and three mobile phones used in the crime were also seized.

The arrested suspects have been identified as 24-year-old Ravikumar from Chilkamukhi village in Bagalkot district, 33-year-old Chandrakant, currently residing in Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru, and 25-year-old Ranjit from Mahalaxmi Nagar, Bengaluru.

The police have presented all suspects in court. The Karnataka State Cyber Command has emphasized that strict action will continue against those who misuse AI technology on social media to harm an individual’s reputation and privacy. Any person engaging in such activities will face severe consequences.
