Threatening Email Targets Amitabh Bachchan and Diljit Dosanjh in Mumbai

A threatening email referencing attacks on Amitabh Bachchan and Diljit Dosanjh has sparked a police investigation in Mumbai.

Mumbai, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : A threatening email received by Mumbai police on Friday has raised alarms, mentioning Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan and singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh. The email, which reportedly discusses potential attacks, specifically references Bachchan’s residence, ‘Jalsa,’ and the upcoming performance of Dosanjh.

According to reports, the email was sent to a school located in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) area of Mumbai, prompting immediate police action. The message outlined dates for alleged attacks on Bachchan’s home, indicating October 31 and November 27 as potential target dates.

Additionally, it mentioned Dosanjh in the context of a purported bomb attack scheduled for November 27 at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai. The email also included pro-Khalistan slogans and identified the sender as the ‘Khalistan National Army.’ It warned of possible attacks at various locations and times, including threats directed at the mayor’s office at 3 PM and schools at 1 PM.

The police are currently investigating the authenticity of the email and its claims. A police official noted that Dosanjh is set to perform at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse as part of his India tour on November 27.

This incident follows a recent controversy regarding a concert by Dosanjh in Delhi, which was initially halted due to security concerns. The Delhi police had temporarily stopped the event, but the organizers, BookMyShow Live, clarified that the concert was not canceled. After discussions with the police, a revised plan was presented, leading to the eventual approval of the concert.

As investigations continue into the threatening email targeting both Bachchan and Dosanjh, authorities are taking the situation seriously.
